No one in the top level ( aka the McMahons) would ever give the OK for a Ali push like this. The trust would not be there. Kofi on the other hand would have all the trust because he's been in the WWE for a very long time now. There are even stories involving Kofi that would lead you to believe he is close to Vince. It's far more likely that WWE saw the support he had been generating. Gave him a shot on Smackdown, saw that reaction and then went with this storyline tonight's match. And good for Kofi btw. He deserves it. And I hope they have the guts to continue it. But no way did WWE have these types of plans for Ali. No way.
