In the e-fed I used to play, my character was really egotistical/delusional, and there was this one woman rassler who he used to assume was into him.... but she hated his guts. She would repeatedly insult him, and he would just shake his head and pity her at being so desperate.
My character then legit started to feel bad that his being so good looking and irresistible was ruining this girl's life because she couldn't have him. So I started hatching a lot of overblown schemes to get her to move on with her life.
At the same time, I was also ripping off that one episode of Simpsons where Krusty had trained Krusty's to do endorsement deals and birthday parties and such. So I sent one of (actually the only one who signed up) my dopplegangers to go be with her.... she, of course hated him....
But the doppleganger actually fell in love with her for real, and assumed she hated him because she was in love with me.... so the doppleganger became obsessed with killing and replacing me so he could be with her..... meanwhile she just legit hated us both....
