For the first time since October 21, the Colorado Avalanche will have Paul Kariya, Joe Sakic, Peter Forsberg, Milan Hejduk, Teemu Selanne and Alex Tanguay together in the lineup when they face the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight.
Kariya has not played since October 21, when he sprained his wrist in a 4-1 loss to he Boston Bruins. It was the second time he had injured the wrist this season and he will wear a brace on it tonight for extra protection.
Kariya has three goals and two assists in seven games this season, his first with Colorado.
"It's ready to go," Kariya told the Denver Post on Monday after practice. "It's strong enough and no more pain. It'll be nice to get back out there. I've watched a lot of hockey this season and want to play some for a while."
