I'll never forget that Chicago crowd. Those guys were so hot for Punk. I don't think the WWE Universe had seen a crowd reaction like that since the days of Austin/Rock. The crowd was so hot for Cena that Cena didn't even greet the fans and do his regular act/schtick when he came out. He knew he was in enemy territory and the announcers even mentioned it. Unfortunately, the WWE made significant mistakes with CM Punk after that. The next night on RAW, he came out to completely new music which killed the pop that he would have received (not because his new theme wasn't awesome.....it was, but because the fans didn't know that it was him coming out). Secondly, they buried Punk with a loss to Hunter, and then proceeded to take the edge out of his character in the months following. Punk really only got his heat back when he turned heel.
