If you think any one person was responsible for ratings, you need to recheck your thought process.

Meanwhile, JBL didn't "prove" himself. That's a trick for faces. JBL's not a face. He's a heel, and heels often get the quick route to the top. Be it by cheating in a title shot, or kicking mexicans out from the border region.
