Yeah, except for a couple of things.
- He took a pay cut. He also got rid of a schedule he didn't want to handle. This alone eliminates the notion that he had a single motivating goal to take the pay cut.
- He said he wouldn't play for anything but the NFL, and wanted to start at the top or nothing. He as much as declined training camps with certain teams. This doesn't sound like someone who wants to play at all costs
- The fame of a football player is greater than the fame of a WWE superstar.
