No, he's just trying to prove he can do the stuff people say he can't. The Fame Asser is his true finisher, while The One & Only used to play the role of a finisher, is now just a trademark move. The Gunn Stinger was a temporary finisher/trademark move, but has now gone the way of Chris Jericho's Breakdown. The Flat Load (as I am now calling it ) is probably his newest phase, or just a move that might make it into his moveset (like the jackhammer). If it gets a name like "The Barrel Roll" or "The Barrel Revolver" or something soon it is probably staying for a month or a bit (maybe even permanently).
