It will be an interesting to see if he can deliver in a match with a joke character like Sonny. Especially in an empty arena match.

Not sure I'd consider Sonny to be a joke character although to be fair, he hasn't really gotten to show much in AEW.
In Lucha Underground, his character wasn't that deep compared to notable others but also was not really in the same realm as a comedic wrestler or some random one-note wrestler.
