Meanwhile Taz never considered that to be a real issue and it came back to bite him in the end. Taz throwing the towel was either him actually caring about Cage's well-being or simply saving some face after all that trash talk he did.
Had Cage actually tapped, it would have made Taz look even worse after everything he said about Moxley.
