Objectively, so was Hogan. Precisely why I added the portion about how any reader may feel about him personally. He wasn't the greatest, and neither was one of the biggest stars in the entire history of the whole goddamn company and arguably the industry.

He didn't have to be Ric Flair or anything. And my Austin comparison isn't 1:1 for talent, just circumstance. You can't deny that Zack Ryder tapped into something far bigger than himself in the exact perfect moment in time, and WWE not only just rode right past it until the iron nearly completely cooled, but then tried to blatantly counterfeit it and nobody bought in.
