Yeah that seems to be one of the main causes for the change since some talent can easily make more in a year than what they'd normally be making in WWE and WWE gets none of sweet side money. Impact had a similar issue some time ago but they went as far as taking a percentage of talent's outside booking fees.

Based on some updates, seems WWE is only demanding talent to drop everything associated with WWE for their side stuff and if they refuse, WWE's is gong to get their cut of the money via fines and punishments.

Now whether or not those who following through and change their account names will still get to keep their side stuff won't really be known until around a month from now assuming WWE doesn't back down from their stance. Its still a shitty move in the end since its taking away stuff that helped make them popular and recognizable in the first place.
