What you’re talking about is a reaction to the product that has been presented. It’s a product that has turned off the common folk because it’s unwatchable as mainstream entertainment. It’s made a heel out of the company itself and fostered a hardcore audience made up of hate watching to make up for lack of quality.
The idea that some time in the early 2000s an entire fan base as a whole just snapped and became a badass hate watching machine as opposed to one old man changing the way business was done and fostering that reaction is some conspiracy theory shit.
