Danielson could have beaten Omega, Omega whinges about it on Dynamite in Norfolk and Adam Page makes his return and feuds with Omega. If you really wanted Page at the PPV, he could do a singles against someone like Miro, Black, Andrade or PAC. Or the heels take out Luchasaurus, because he sucks, and Page is JB’s tag partner at Full Gear. If Omega is involved in the beating it furthers a potential Omega vs. Page story too.
Yep. Feels a lot like WWE style “booking themselves into a corner”. There are certain guys not in the tournament because you don’t want them to win in the end, so to avoid beating them you leave them out despite it making 0 sense to do so. Just don’t book a tourney to start with.

They’re crowning “The Next #1 Contender” so that you leave Full Gear knowing who the champ is and who their next/first contender will be. I get it, I maybe wouldn’t do it if it didn’t make a great deal of sense, but I get it.
