I just watched this and while there were some great ideas it really had far too much scene chewing amongst the predictable deaths and disappointingly cliched action scenes to be anything more than a real disappointment.
The thing I liked about the last one was how quickly they brought it back to reality and stripped away any semblance of relation to the hack & slash sequels that came after the original. Sadly this new one is handicapped by the prevalence of bloodshed and copycat gore that honestly looks like somebody is deliberately celebrating the shittier Halloween films and it’s imitators... it’s a bad style choice when the story starts off so well with the flashbacks and the earnest belief that Michael is dead.

I’m a bit annoyed Michael is now back to invincible bogeyman status. The first one really made him look mortal for a bit there...


Halloween Kills - 2/4

No real spoilers, just might be off-putting to those who are yet to see it.

Highlighted the quote with my biggest issue. Too many "versions" and its like this one borrowed some from here n there and made it into one big pile of shit. Gorefest for wanking, it is.
