I think a lot of people are being too harsh on JBL. The fact of the matter is, he's a guy who's been loyal to wrestling for a long time, has been a good tea player, and puts 100% into everything he does. The administration told him essentially to change his image or get a pink slip, so he completely changed his image. He's a decent power wrestler - he's no Ron Simmons or Scott Norton or Steiner Brother, but he has ability. His finisher is not the worst thing I've ever seen - Test does a boot to the face for gosh sakes, the Rock dropped an elbow on the person, Shawn Michaels does a weak sidekick to the face (or chest, nowadays, since he's not flexible enough to reach the face), and Foley puts a sock down someone's throat. At least Bradshaw does an old-fashioned power move - a clothesline.
Now, his gimmick sucks. His only GOOD gimmick was in the Acolytes with Ron Simmons. Then, as part of the A.P.A., he was good. But don't blame him for the racist jerks in the WWE backstage. First they make him a neo-Nazi, KKK, racist SOB, then they decide he's not racist anymore and instead just Texan-turned-New Yorker. The entire thing sucks, the WWE staff sucks, and I stopped watching WWE specifically because JBL, who's best friends with both Ron Simmons and Jacqueline, was turned into a racist on TV because of the WWE. I hate when they play the "race" card, and Vince just LOOOOOOOOVES doing it.
And the scariest thing is, when he was saying his stuff about Eddie and Mexicans (Eddie was born in California, btw, and is USA 100%), some people were cheering. Way to go, Vince. Way to appeal to the white-trash, racist audience. You certainly know which viewers to cater too while losing all your minority viewers.
