I can see it going either way because I could see Sasha "doing something like this" at some point, but I can also see her creating this walk out angle to stir shit and make some waves, and perhaps pitching it at the right time to the right person to get it done.

You can cut it both ways; by announcing a tournament they’ve now got to throw some teams together and put some spotlight on the belts, which is a bit of a “fuck you” to Sasha in particular. They didn’t have to that, they could have just quietly forgotten about them entirely given the lack of depth across the division(s). Or, they ran this angle to put some spotlight on the division, but they couldn’t have done that without trashing their talent.
I can see Naomi coming back and that being tied into the Bloodline stuff. I can see Sasha being done for now.

This. They could have just done Shayna & Natalya vs. Asuka & Io Shirai and been done with it. Or just forgotten about the belts and let the girls involved bury the belts.
I don’t think they want Naomi to be a heel. She’s a “positive role model” for a demographic they’re after. I don’t really know how well she would do as a heel either.

If it is a work then it very much reeks of WCW Russo’s “Is it a work or a shoot?” booking.

Oh, no doubt the breaking kayfabe stuff is shit.

Lol, shut the fuck up. Each case is different, and you’re being worked all the time.
