My issue is more belts means more people carrying them and that takes away from it being special. I didn’t mind the TNT belt or the TBS belt, because I believe there needs to be a mid card/upper mid card title for either vets like Cody or Miro, who made the belt mean something, and help elevate young guys when they win it, like Darby or Sammy, even though Sammy flopped as a face.

Right now we have 2 world champions, 2 network champions, and tag champs. 6 people walking around with gold. That’s enough. Adding a 3rd title when the secondary belt is already on a placeholder champ isn’t going to add prestige to winning a belt.

A third title doesn’t make whoever takes the world title and current TNT champ Scorpio Sky look more special. IMO it just normalized carrying a belt. It’s the same issue with title overload I had with WWE when they were touting 2 world champs, IC/US champs, tag champs and women champs. It’s just too much.
