Frankly, I almost want to call that rumor bullshit, since it'd be absurd to judge him so fast. Furthermore, I wouldn't say it's a total flop... sure, he's not getting cheered like Cena, but how many people are?

What we're seeing in the WWE is the next progression in the path from riches to downfall. You're rolling, so you get lazy. Then you think that you can get away with being lazy, so you keep doing it. Unfortunately, ratings eventually take notice and drop. You try to rectify it with quick fixes. That doesn't work. By the time you know you need to fix things, you've forgotten how and/or you've become obsessed with your power and refuse to give it up. So then you start rushing things.

I think we've seen that rushing things practically never works. Benoit should have been champ until Survivor Series. If Orton is to turn fact, give him a three month feud in which he slowly earns respect. Make the Evolution turn gradual; that way, fans will see it coming but relish in anticipation anyway. Have Orton win.... then have Evolution turn a couple of weeks later. Orton's first title reign is short... maybe one month, and he's thus screwed out of the title. Then, you set up the old chase storyline.

That would take you through next year very easily, but no, they've more than doubled the speed at which they go through things, so that by all means, HHH vs Orton should be exhausted by the end of the year. Any further and it turns into X-Pac vs Kane.

I really would like to know who makes the decisions to allocate time to who, when to go forward with what angles, and what decisions to make or not make during booking. If so many of us, as fans, can figure all of this out, why can't anyone up there?

Oh right, because those in power refuse to admit they're wrong. Stubborn ingrates.
