This is true. He got plenty of opportunities there. He could have been treated far worse. He was enamoured with his own ideas, and not all of them were good ones.

Yeah, AEW fucked up the early negotiations (probably on purpose) and Punk wanted to go to WWE to stick it back to them. Vince knows how much he gave Punk last time and how little he appreciated it. They didn’t need him and he doesn’t move the needle that much. If you’re going to bring in CM Punk it’s to be a main eventer. Which main eventer would you bump? It doesn’t make sense.

That being said, I hope WWE does bring him back now and shows AEW how it’s done. I hope the truth about AEW and The Elite comes out. I’d love to see the venom fly. I think Punk having a run as a salty veteran in NXT could be a lot of fun.

AEW are also backing away from Thunder Rosa. They have their cult and if they are going to stick to serving them Kool-Aid, they deserve what they get. There is no interest in making the product better or treating people correctly. It’s about stroking certain egos. Fuck AEW and I personally hope Punk takes them for all they’re worth. I just hope a bunch of other talented people can get out if they want too.
