Jokes aside, with the 3DO looking promising to me when I was younger, this was one of the titles that helped stoke that interest. It didn't look THAT advanced especially when you consider what Donkey Kong Country did on the Super Nintendo, but there was enough there. I wasn't familiar with Dana Gould until his work on the vastly overlooked NBC show "Working". I vaguely remember a comedy bit he did on cable companies that I thought was pretty funny. I don't know if nobody else could've done the job for Gex but he seemed serviceable enough. I've always wanted to get my hands on it to see if it was a hidden gem that passed me by. It's funny how he's practically a punchline in this day and age, but like Earthworm Jim, the guy was ALL OVER the place in the nineties. I remember seeing ads for the third game all the God damn time in game magazines, which mainly did more to pique my curiousity about Marliece Andrada than anything else.
