So here comes someone witb a vision. And i see the vision and immediately think that womens wrestling doesnt even draw when the wwe is selling it like its a billion dollar idea. And with that the womens segments still hemorrhage viewers everytime they go up to bat.
But here comes a foreign investor with an idea thats completely off the wall. But its still a vision. And you can never discredit art when its done with the proper passion because then it just needs execution and exposure.
My immediate question whos bumping because youre going to need to level workers to even dream of making this work AND you need enough of them to not oversaturate the ones you want in key spots. Is the Joshi pool deep enough for that? The number of women in the US who can draw is so shallow that it kills any hope of them having real traction after 6 months.
Now i love puro, or what puro was before the US Indy cancer took hold over it, and i love Joshis when then working Kings Road or Strong Style. So i see this and think, well im in the demo they hope exists. So i can for certain see me checking the product out. No question. But will it work? Can it work? I dunno.i doubt it but ive been wrong before.
But yeah, its pretty interesting.

It depends on where they're pulling from. Stardom has a wealth of talent, but I doubt they'd get anyone from there. Sendai Girls, Seedlining, and Marvelous are relatively close in style to classic AJW, but they each only have 3-5 really notable talents. Tokyo Joshi Pro has some good talent too. Besides that, there's a stand out here or there, but it's mostly crap.
The biggest problem is none of these women speak english. If they really go hard into making this feel different and focus on pure sport presentation as opposed to typical story and character based stuff, it MIGHT be intriging enough to work, but it's still going to be an uphill battle.
