I am happy with it being Cole, everyone now wants to claim it was the obvious outcome but go back in time a week and the internet was full of theories. In so far as an intrigue angle it did its job despite every man and his dog now claiming it was obvious.
What they do with it will be interesting if MJF really is out for a while and AC is still out a while. Hard to keep an angle hot when ones gone and the other is injured.

Overall, it was obvious. Even from the start, it seemed like this was the direction of pairing up Cole and MJF to begin with, just so AC could "outsmart" him, and be what was supposed to be a double turn of sorts... since MJF was a heel that everyone liked and Adam Cole was a babyface running on expiring sympathy.
However, I don't think either of them or Tony imagined that them being a babyface tandem would get over as hot as it did, so they kept running with it. On top of that, the injuries started piling up on both guys, fucking up a storyline that was likely supposed to wrap up months ago given how fast TK likes to burn through angles.
However, what happens in recent history about anything "obvious"? Everyone is usually inclined to do the Vince Russo thing and "swerve, bro" because the if anyone can see it coming, then it must not be good. Every ending has to have some M Knight Shamalyan twist just to fool the dirt sheets and smart fans, right?!
Again, they could've tried to drop in Danhausen or Kip Sabian or Hook for zero reason other than "HA, WE FOOLED YOU!" and it is at least good they didn't try that.
