I'm not a huge Bret fan,he's not even in my top 5 list and maybe not in my top 10 list. I do know Bret contribute to wrestling in many ways though.

He made Austin the popular wrestler he became. His fued with Bret change his career.That fued basically started the Attitude era and what you see today.
Every guy from Canada who wants and wanted to be a wrestler wanted to be like Bret.
He made Owen Hart the popular wrestler he became.His fued with Bret change his career
He made Bulldog the popular wrestler he became.His match with Bret at SSlam change his career.
He was the first WWE champ without a lame cartoon gimmick after the Golden Age.Wrestlers had to learn more than 5 moves to be successful in the WWE.
