Obviously people of any given particular group will decide what they feel is offensive; others will feel the opposite. I think we all know that naming a team, at least initially, was more for appropriate descriptive reasons than anything. Boston CELTICS. San Fransisco FORTY NINERS. Edmonton OILERS. Redskins, Braves, Reds etc probably had a high population of Native people in that area.
