Perhaps this as a conclusion type part of it.....

Hogan was and still is the ultimate 'superhero' wrestling character. Flair always used his ability and reputation as such to move him further. Hogan was on top and drew money in a time when the mainstream wrestling business was being marketed to families and children, whereas Flair's character was and has never been that type of marketable character. Even today, in a much changed wrestling business, both still are around, Hogan has found a renaissance as the superhero 'Hulk Rules' character which he first made popular more than 20 years ago, while Flair, still perhaps running on his historical place at the heart of the business rather than his in-ring ability has the ability to perform in matches and interviews.

Both were and forever will be complete opposites in terms of character and in-ring capability, but both still have the ability to appeal to the wrestling fan and be popular in their eyes many years after they first debuted despite the many wrestlers that have come and gone who have been setup to 'take their places' at the highest points of the industry.
