I was away for the weekend when it happened so my dad took the computer to his friend who is "good with computers" to fix it and he just reformatted the hard drive.

It was pretty obvious it didn't need to be reformatted, I mean, I had a seperate hard drive for mp3s and video files and the problem was on the other hard drive.
