Although, being 18, I could never truly appreciate what John Peel has done for music for the last 40 years, I can say how much I enjoyed listening to his shows, how much of a legend the guy clearly was, how much he entertained me whenever I saw him presenting Glasto on the TV, or all the other times I've seen or heard him. He's a figurehead for all that is good about music, rather than all the bullshit that you usually get.
My heart goes out to his family, it is a tragic loss to both them, and the whole of the music industry.
