For a free one, AVG is the best.
For a free one...
As for the question of tests, we did a few different ones. Like going to a know website that had a trojan on it, scanning a computer we knew was infected, slaving an infected drive to a clean computer and doing a scan etc etc etc. I dont have all the results anymore, as we did this testing when I was still in Victoria. None of the Antivirus software was perfect, but Norton 2003 was the best as far dections and removal.
Stay away from norton 2004 though, it fucks up more computers than it fixes. 2005 seems to be fine, running it on my work computer now, and havent had any issues with it thus far.
Panda is a cheaper solution than Norton, and as far as how well it actually works, its not terrible, but all the annyoing pop ups get to me. Any antivirus is better than none, or one you know isnt working right. Aside from norton 2004, Symantec has had the best antivirus software year in and year out as far as im concerned.
Aside from the antivirus software, and symantec's ghost software, i'd stay clear of symantecs other stuff though. The internet security is a joke, and slows your computer right down. System works should be burned and sent to hell. Dont ever install either on your system
