That would be great! Fate catches up to Triple H and disrobes him of the heavyweight title. Of course then they'd be controversy over the title, but that could lead into some kind of tournament at New Year's Revolution. You can have all the previous active former World Heavyweight Champions enter under no price, and have the IC Champ guaranteed a position in the tournament, as long as he puts the title on the line in all of his matches. You can then have the other placing determined by a series of qualifying matches, which leaves some other hopefuls a bit angry, and gives them
feuds for the year coming, and allows the participants in the match to lose without losing too much heat. This is what the tournament could look like:
First Round
Triple H vs. Chris Benoit
Winner: Chris Benoit via submission.
Batista vs. Rhyno
Winner: Batista via countout.
WWE Intercontinental Championship
Edge vs. Shelton Benjamin
Winner: Shelton Benjamin via pinfall.
Randy Orton vs. Gene Snitsky
Winner: Randy Orton via forfeit.
Second Round
Chris Benoit vs. Batista
Winner: Chris Benoit via submission.
WWE Intercontinental Championship
Shelton Benjamin vs. Randy Orton
Winner: Shelton Benjamin via pinfall.
Third Round
WWE Intercontinental Championship
Chris Benoit vs. Shelton Benjamin
Winner: Chris Benoit via pinfall.
World Heavyweight Championship/WWE Intercontinental Championship
Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit
Winner: Chris Jericho via submission.
You could replace Rhyno with Ric Flair, to add more drama to the Benoit vs. Batista match, because Flair would just lie down for Batista. Anyway you have Benoit and Jericho wrestle a good match, andeither have Jericho wlak away with both titles, or have Benoit walk away witht he IC Title (make it 2/3 Falls, or have the loser keep the IC Title). Then on RAW, the IC Champion hands the title back over to Benjamin, claiming they have no longer use for the title, and that they'd be honoured if Benjamin would make their place in the rays of the Intercontinental Championship in an emotional moment.
