They're a publicly traded corporation, with the chief purpose of making money for their board of directors.

Whether or not you personally like the segments is not an issue to them, as they have determined that this will boost ratings, increase traffic on their website, and make them more money.

And also, a lot of these guys obviously do have a lot of talent, because the WWE signs many of them to developmental contracts after they are cut. They've already signed two guys from this Tough Enough, half or more of the Diva Search girls, and tons of other people who lost from previous Tough Enoughs. Like it or not, these shows definitly are good ways to scope out new talent.
Yeah, I know, they ARE a great way to scope out talent. But I'm just saying, I don't really give a fuck. Do this on your own time. Don't bog down SmackDown, which is already hit and miss(and most of the time, it's the latter) as it is, with pointless bullshit. Yes, SmackDown mostly is pointless bullshit, but when you have a show that showcases wrestling and entertainment, I have to be interested in what you're showing me.

The Tough Enough segments draw in all those people who find reality TV to be interesting, but I'm just expressing my opinion, and I had to vent that shit, man.
