They do, they have strength coaches and such, where they grey area is, is how they train in the offseason. Some teams work requirements into contracts or have off-season training sessions but some players prefer to work on their own and tend to get coaches permission. Typically, it happens when a player doesn't live in the same state he plays and wants to spend more off-season time at home.
