Actually, Hassan did refer to the Cornell study during his Raw promo.

By referencing the Cornell study, Hassan came off as an intelligent heel whose claims are credible.

The WWE seems to be pushing Hassan as the moderate anti-American heel, and Daivara(sp?) as the more extreme anti-American. With this contrast, Hassan words come off as being more sensible, and with greater meaning to the fans.

I thought the Arab garment was a great heat getter. Old school yes, but effective. The anti-American gimmick can only get Hassan so far (see La Resistance). However, the character does have more substance and depth than previous gimmicks of the kind, with Hassan not only being Arab, but also American. This sets up a conflict of interest, and its intriguing to see where this is going.

Hassan character walks the tenuous of uncertainty and that is his greatest appeal. What will he say next? The character resonates and strikes a nerve with fans, and the crowd reaction on Raw indicates that fans are interested.

Personally, I think Hassan would be a great 4th member of Evolution (more on this later).
