I loved the King of the Ring, as well. I would have made Val Venis the winner of the 2002 one, BTW. It was generally a nice feeling to see him past the qualifying rounds.

I was just doing a list of PPVs for the year, and at first I only got 14 (I missed the second SmackDown! one in October I think) so I thought "I wonder if they'll ever bring the KOTR back?", so I guess it seems to be going around. I'd have it made a big issue, and have the only qualification be that you can't have held the World Heavyweight Championship or WWE Championship (from the time Chris Jericho held it, to the time John Bradshaw Layfield held it).

I'd have Muhammad Hassan and Carlito Carribean Cool become the finalists, and let them milk off that for a long time (make runner-up a dignified role, and allow that to guarantee access to the next tournament, even if they've become World Champion before then).

Have the tournament begin pretty much straight after WrestleMania, then have the finals at the PPV.
