I consider cult films to be more counter cultural films. There is no real set definition of what a cult film is though, that is why there are so many arguments about certain films and if they are cult films or not. To me it seems like you are talking more about Camp Cult Films, it is hard to explain exactly what they are. But at same time you are not just talking about them. What is also interesting is the ability of a film to have a cult status and then later on not be considered one. A prime example of this is "It's A Wonderful Life" for a long time no one really cared about it. It was seen as to cheesy, but eventually it was rediscovered and manifested into what it is today.
I suppose I can talk about my cult films now. To pick one is extremely hard. Within cult films themselves there are so many different type of genres. I could go with a movie that is so bad that it is good like Flesh Gordon. I could go with a movie that is so good it is a suprise it did so bad in the box office like Harold and Maude. Picking jsut one film is way to hard but I really enjoyed Harold and Maude. But at the same time A Clockwork Orange always pops in my head. I have always had troubles picking just one film.
