He was really only pushed as a main eventer for a couple of months, but in that time he did well. Unfortunately the company was never totally behind him, so its hard to praise or criticize his run.
I think his title win was more of a lifetime achievement award, and in reality he was only put in that position so HHH could have a series of great main event matches.
My gut feeling is that he wont win the World Title again. There's an outside chance that he could get it back if Batista were to completely fail as champ, and they decide they need a quick fix, and go to Benoit, who they know will have nothing but great matches, and the fans will accept as a top guy.
The problem is that he'll never be a top draw because as I said, the company isn't behind him, so the while the fans respect him, they wont go out fo their way to pay to see him like they did for a Rock, Hogan or Austin.
