A: spell-check
B: I totally see where you coming from I guess. It's juyst that I think you're missing all of the fun of putting your heart and soul into a team and really rooting for them. I'm sure you honestly want the jets and giants to both win, but it's not the same as rooting for only one team, and following them through the ups and downs, and putting your reputation on the line constantly by supporting them even when they're 1-15 and 2-14 in consecutive years.
I live in New Jersey about an hour 15 minutes from the Meadowlands. So it's not like I'm coming from the other side of the world or anything. I don't know any real hardcore fan who like both the Jets and Giants, I do however know a few casual fans who only tune in around playoff time and root for whoever's doing better. This as I specified earlier, is just like "winner-picking", and theres no point in being a fan if your just going to take whoever is better that year.
During the 2nd Kottite year, I had a friend who said, "I'll give you $5 if the Jets win 2 games this year", and he was so confident that he said he didn't even want anything if they didn't, he just knew the Jets were THAT bad. Of course, they finish 1-15. There's no amount of words that can be used to describe the amount of bragging that kid had over me, and still does. THAT is what you miss when you "root for" both teams, it's not the same
