Shaman are a class that, without any skill, are kinda crappy. A Shaman in good hands will beat pretty much any other skilled player playing another class. They're great at deleeing melee damage, and with mail armor are still good tanks. Their nukes aren't as potent as a Mage's, but still sufficient. And don't give me anything about running out of mana fast... my friend's Shaman (well not really my friend but someone I know ) has over 5k life and 4k mana, unbuffed. The highest rank of FS costs 430 mana, and that's assuming you never gain Clearcasting (which you only need 1 talent to get, as opposed to the 5 it takes Mages). True, if you're just a noob and you just spam FS every 6 seconds (5 with talent), and heal when necessary, then you'll probably lose quite a bit of duels. Shaman is a lethal class when played right, as opposed to say Rogues, who even kids with down syndrome can play effectively. So yeah, Shaman are 'over-powered', but only if they know what they're doing. They have pretty much all the benefits of any other class [nuking, healing, tanking], with very few of the sacrifices that other classes are restricted to.
I dunno, they're not as bad as they seemed a couple months ago, but that's simply because my perspective changed and I can rape most Shaman relatively easy now. *shrug*
