ESPN has him signed to a 1yr minor league contract, which gets him a spring training invite.
I know there was talk the sox wanted to keep/pay him because when he's done playing the sox want to be first in line to offer him a coaching job (I'd assume he'd start as a minor league hitting instructor or possible base coach).
