Really they have a lot of positions where they could find a good guy, first, second, catcher, center field, and DH are all average. The Yankees were completely based around their top 4 last season. Granted there aren't a lot of guys that would be worth them picking up to lead off, but its kind of stupid that they keep trying to add to their cluttered middle lineup. Chuck Knoblauch wasn't the best player, but he did a lot for the Yankees while he was there, and since he has been gone the lack of a true leadoff hitter has hurt them.

They just signed Womack, so I guess he's more a "true" lead off guy but you aren't going to get a "true lead off guy" from somebody who plays 1st (they already have 2 1st basemen) catcher (got an all star there) or DH (usually a power guy)
Maybe center field, and moving Bernie to DH full time but I dunno.
