Actually, I've read that Eddie Guerrero is going to remain a face and his match against Rey will be another face vs. face encounter. Kind of ridiculous to have all these face/face showdowns considering a good guy vs. bad guy storyline is so much easier (and often more interesting) way to build up a feud.
I think Randy needs to turn heel again to get back over to where he was before Summerslam. His face turn has been a complete and total flop - period. He has every reason to turn heel, from a storyline perspective and from a real life perspective as well. He's a white meat baby face, but he's not good enough on the mic to make it work. His heel persona is so much better, because he is a good looking guy, and he does have a lot going for him, and when he brags about it it generates instantaneous heat.
Not to mention the fact that if he does go into Mania against Taker as a face, he's going to get booed out of the arena during the match. This won't be a Rock vs. Hogan type match where the fans go back and forth throughout, and both men come out as huge faces when its over. If Orton tries to play the face role throughout and actually wins clean, and then decides not to use this to his advantage to boost his cocky heel image, the fans are going to shit all over it.
Besides, a heel Randy Orto with a big victory over an established legend like The Undertaker makes him the perfect person to step up against Batista after he wins the title at Mania. I really don't see any way that that plan could fail.
I guess we'll see how things develop in the next few weeks.
