Coventry International Showdown report *now with pics of me and wrestlers WOOOO!*

I went to the Coventry Supershow on Saturday and I also went to a meet and greet with some of the workers, they were doing interview spots and CM Punk told a really funny story about what they were planning to do with heidenriech instead of his current gimmick. Aparently they were going to say that Heidenriech was a SS Nazi crogenically frozen in 1937. The catch being that all this was before the war and when the Nazi's were still a political party, so he'd get boo'd the fuck out of but wouldn't understand why, made me laugh anyway.

I met loads of guys, got autographs and pics with the following:

Mick Foley
Samoa Joe
Raven
AJ Styles
Christopher Daniels
Chris Sabin
Petey Williams
CM Punk

I'll post some pics when I get round to it.

Anyway the show itself was the best i've seen in years, every match was solid, and the venue was a near sell out, only 200 seats spare that I could see, so there was over 3000 in there, by far the biggest Indy show that I know of in the UK.

Spud Vs Petey Williams Vs Chris Sabin Vs Jonny Storm

Great opener, lots of big spots to get the crowd going, Petey pinned Sabin after the Canadian Destroyer

Mals Sanders Vs Steve Grey

Unfortunatly this match was never going to get over with the type of crowd watching, they did do some nice stuff, but it seemed most people were more interested in the merchandise table than the wrestling. Steve Grey won via pin in the 4th round

Samoa Joe Vs CM Punk

My only complaint about this match was how short it was, it lasted about 15 minutes, I wanted it to last about 3 hours, Super sweet, Joe won with a fishermans buster

Flash Funk, Doug Williams and James Tighe Vs Tiger Emporer, Misawa and Ogawa

I've never been able to get into Japanese wrestling in the past as i don't understand the ring phycologly, but after watch 20 minutes I was hooked, great match, Tiger Emporer looked really good, even if he did look like the ilegitiment son of tiger mask. Doug got the pin on Tiger with the Chaos Theory

Raven Vs Alex Shane

Shane managed to book himself to be the only heel of the night, every other worker was over as a face, anyway, even though the wrestling was simple, it was very effective, lots of brawling on the outside, and a balcony bump from shane, the match ended when Foley came out and did a run in giving Shane Mr Socko and then Raven executing the Evenflow for the pin, decent match.

Aj Styles Vs Daniels

I'd seen every spot these guys have done together, they did most of it in this match and I dno't care, it was fucking awesome, my match of the night. Just greatness. Fallen Angel went over with the Last Rights

All in all great show, hope they plan on doing another, if they were to put this type of show on twice a year i'd go in a heart beat
