EASTERN CONFERENCE

(1) Miami
(8) New Jersey
This will go seven, but mainly because Shaq is hobbled. Also, because nothing he's done in the last few month has shwon that VC is anything but a little bitch who will quit at the first sign of presure.

(4) Chicago
(5) Washington
Washington. w/Curry and Deng, I'd take the Bulls. But they have no size now and Hughes and Arenas shut people down defensively.

(3) Boston
(6) Indiana
Boston. O'Neal isn't healthy and w/o Artest they have no one who can stop Pierce and Davis. This goes 7, Pierce averages like 28 a game, and the C's advance

(2) Detroit
(7) Philadelphia
Detroit. My only comment is this: CWebb is a fag.

WESTERN CONFERENCE

(1) Phoenix
(8) Memphis
Suns. not really close either, unless Mike Miller goes on one of those tears like Chuck Person in '91.

(4) Dallas
(5) Houston
The Mavs are more athletic and physical than they were last year. Plus, they have an angry, 7" tall German guy who can score from anywhere on the floor. Anywhere. That helps...I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the Mavs win it all this year.

(3) Seattle
(6) Sacramento
Seattle. I love Mike Bibby, but he doesn't have enough to drag the rest of these idiots into the second round. Doesn't matter though, because whoever advance gets swept in Round 2.

(2) San Antonio
(7) Denver
This has 'upset' written all over it. TD is gimpy, the Spurs traded or released a lot of the guys who did the dirty work down low, the Nugs can throw 4 quality big men at Duncan, Carmelo can post Bowen up at will, the Spurs are a little soft (OK..actually its just Tony Parker that's soft) and Andre miller has been lights out in the second half.

Two of these games are going to come down to "who makes the last shot?" If Melo steps up and shows that hes not just a scorer but an actual NBA suoerstar- and stars come through in the clutch- then the Nugs win this series and the Spurs have t seriously reevaluate this team's future.

My guess: Nugs in six.
