Also, I was just thinking about when Rasheed Wallace talked about how "We're the champs until somebody beats us" in reference to the World Heavyweight Title belts he bought for all of his teammates. Well, I got to thinking, what if the NBA Title was defended like wrestling titles? Well, I'm a dork, so here's this year's NBA Title History:

#1 Detroit Pistons - Defeated L.A. Lakers - 2004 NBA Finals
#2 Toronto Raptors - Beat Pistons 101-89 - 11/5/04
#3 Sacramento Kings - Beat Raptors 108-92 - 11/9/04
#4 Seattle Sonics - Beat Kings 108-78 - 11/10/04
#5 Boston Celtics - Beat Sonics 102-83 - 11/21/04
#6 Indiana Pacers - Beat Celtics 106-96 - 11/23/04
#7 Seattle Sonics (2) - Beat Pacers 103-95 - 11/28/04
#8 Portland Blazers - Beat Sonics 100-94 - 11/30/04
#9 Seattle Sonics (3) - Beat Blazers 99-89 - 12/4/04
#10 Boston Celtics (2) - Beat Sonics 98-84 - 12/11/04
#11 Denver Nuggets - Beat Celtics 100-99 - 12/15/04
#12 Miami Heat - Beat Nuggets 107-100 - 12/17/04
#13 Seattle Sonics (4) - Beat Heat 108-98 - 1/9/05
#14 Los Angeles Clippers - Beat Sonics 103-92 - 1/12/05
#15 Sacramento Kings (2) - Beat Clippers 99-95 - 1/15/05
#16 - San Antonio Spurs - Beat Kings 103-73 - 1/23/05
#17 - Portland Blazers (2) - Beat Spurs 107-99 - 1/24/05
#18 - Dallas Mavericks - Beat Blazers 95-88 - 1/26/05
#19 - Philadelphia 76ers - Beat Mavericks 93-89 - 1/29/05
#20 - Houston Rockets - Beat Sixers 118-95 - 2/2/05
#21 - Seattle Sonics (5) - Beat Rockets 87-85 - 2/22/05
#22 - Milwaukee Bucks - Beat Sonics 99-73 - 2/27/05
#23 - Philadelphia 76ers (2) - Beat Bucks 118-111 - 3/1/05
#24 - New Jersey Nets - Beat Sixers 99-93 - 3/2/05
#25 - Miami Heat (2) - Beat Nets 106-90 - 3/3/05
#26 - Houston Rockets (2) - Beat Heat 84-82 - 3/22/05
#27 - San Antonio Spurs (2) - Beat Rockets 83-70 - 3/27/05
#28 - Denver Nuggets (2) - Beat Spurs 102-84 - 4/1/05
#29 - Houston Rockets (3) - Beat Nuggets 115-87 - 4/16/05

I know that doesn't prove anything except that I have way too much time on my hands.

But it's odd to think of the Houston Rockets as the defending NBA Champions. It's also weird to think of the Sonics as the Triple H of the NBA.
