I'd have to say that the Royal Rumble PPV is my all-time favorite PPV.... and that's because the Royal Rumble Match itself is my favorite match in all of wrestling.
In pouring through my tapes (I have Rumbles '91 through '01), I've discovered something... Ric Flair does NOT hold the record for the longest time in the Rumble. In 1992, he entered 3rd, and lasted 1 hour and 10 seconds to win the Rumble and become WWF Champion......
One year later, Bob Backlund entered 2nd (With Flair entering 1st) and survived 1 hour, 1 minute, and 12 seconds... only to be tossed out by Yokozuna.
I have yet to look through every single Rumble match, but I'm confident in saying that it is Bob Backlund who currently holds the all-time endurence record in the Royal Rumble Match.
Note: The 1995 Royal Rumble Match only lasted 38 minutes and 42 seconds.... that's now long (or little) Shawn Michaels had to go to win..... Not too cool in my book, but oh well.... he's still one of the greats.
