This thread is dealing mostly with the quality of the wrestler and his ability to put on memorable matches... In my rankings, I consider wrestling ability more than anything, followed by charisma and finally mic ability... Marketability is an important factor too...
Top 20 Main Event Caliber Superstars:
1.
Kurt Angle - best in the business, enough said...
2.
Shawn Michaels - delivers constantly, still in his prime, putting over so many people...
3.
Eddie Guerrero - heel turn should be great, awesome performer, charisma...
4.
Rey Mysterio - can be WWE champ if given the right push...
5.
Shelton Benjamin - the next big thing...
6.
Chris Benoit - marketability may be a problem at this point, but he's amazing...
7.
Rob Van Dam - need to capitalize on his return, he can be awesome and over if pushed and if he can work his own style...
8.
Chris Jericho - still great, but has lost a step due to burying over the years...
9.
Christian - so high purely due to charisma, has yet to carry awesome matches...
10.
Triple H - delivers in big match situations and will go down as one of the best heels ever...
11.
The UnderTaker - still delivers and in great shape, hopefully he can put some talent over...
12.
Booker T - needs a huge push before retiring... Not the Booker of WCW, but still pretty marketable, in my opinion...
13.
Batista - awesome big man, they did a good job with his push...
14.
JBL - truly carried SD! last year, awesome charisma, decent ring skills too, actually...
15.
Edge - lost a huge step since his injury, but still has a lot of charisma and can still do well as champ in the near future...
16.
Randy Orton - still a little sloppy, but damn over and very marketable...
17.
John Cena - limited moveset, but his charisma says it all...
18.
Carlito - really entertaining and good in the ring too... Deserves the U.S. title for now, if anything...
19.
Kane - good big man, his overness has lost a huge step since his unmasking... Not the same marketable character, especially after the runs with Lita and the feud with Snitsky and Viscera...
20.
Big Show - still pretty good, not a future WWE champ for me, but someone that can still get a huge pop and put over talent...
Top 10 Tag-Teams:
1.
Dudley Boyz - still the best tag-team in WWE, unfortunately...
2.
MNM - new and fresh, Melina makes the team what it is, though...
3.
Basham Brothers - have gone a long way as a team...
4.
Tajiri/Regal or Eugene/Regal - either combo is good in the ring and over...
5.
La Resistance - should be Dupree/Grenier... Pretty established team, at least...
6.
Hassan & Daivari - they should team these guys, they actually have trememdous potential as a team, in my opinion, as opposed to Hassan on his own...
7.
Hurricane & Rosey - this has gotten old and that's when they decide to put the titles on them, what can you do...
8.
Simon Dean & Maven - could be good if they get direction and good angles on RAW, however won't amount to anything facing the likes of Venis on HEAT in singles matches
9.
Haas & Holly - not a bad team, but they are not pushed and have no momentum, Haas deserves better...
10.
Heart Throbs - good to have another team around, but these guys don't really do it for me
