Who is...?
I got thinking of various terms used in wrestling the other day, and was thinking of the sheer number of people who use the term "The franchise." It got me wondering who people considered the actual franchise of wrestling.
Given the limits of most people's viewing capacities, try and keep it to the televised US promotions. Try and keep it semi-current, since it's hard to compare history to the present.
Who is:
The Franchise? The person most synonymous with pro wrestling.
The most successful? Success is hard to measure in a fake sport, but give an opinion anyway.
Best face? Best Heel?
The most over? Whether face or heel, or success in those.
The most recognised? Not necessarily because of wrestling.
The best pure athelete? Ring skills primarily
Best on the stick...Period? Mic/promo skills
Best non-wrestling talent? Managers, valets, commentary
Your favorite?
Best onscreen authority figure?
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”
