It sort of surprised me because I wasn't expecting the WWE to TRY and make the storyline for the World Heavyweight Championship as repetitive as possible. What a fool I was.

I would have preferred to have seen Ric turn heel by costing Batista the title to Edge, under the assumption Triple H would return if there was a different World Heavyweight Champion. You could then freshen things up by having Angle come over to RAW, and Triple H getting drafting to SmackDown!. You can then have Christian/Tomko turn face when Edge doesn't give him the Money in the Bank Title Shot, have left-over problems between Batisa and Christian/Tomko). You then have Edge find an ally in Gene Snitsky, when it turns out Snitsky was with Lita the whole time, adding fuel to the Kane vs. Edge feud. Flair can then join with Angle and Jindrak, forming a half-decent heel stable that could make RAW pretty interesting over the next few weeks.

So on RAW you have Christian, Batista, Kane Shawn Michaels & Marty Jannetty as the lead faces, with an ever-present tension between Christian and Batista. Kurt Angle, Ric Flair, Edge, Gene Snitskty & Lita as the lead heel entities.

But yeah, looks like we've got Triple H vs. Batista III on the horizon.
