The thing about warlocks is having a lot of shards at your disposle.
Best thing to use for a warlock in pvp with melee (this does not imply to most gank situations) is your voidwalker. Promply DOT the person you are after, and sacrifice your voidwalker. Pump out searing fires, not shadow bolts. Searing fires take less mana, and cast faster. With the right talent spec, you can get a pretty high crit chance on searing bolt, getting up to doing 800 dmg in 1.5 seconds, which is a pretty damn good spam. Start to fear only after your shield wears off. This strat works for all melee most of the time. Never rely on fear to win a battle, just use it whenever you need to use it.
For casters, have your felhound out. Felhound is probably your best pet in the whole game. It can remove disease/curse/magic, but not poison. This helps for priests/warlocks very well. Combined with spell-lock for a 10 second silence (once you get the maximum level skill) with a 20 second cooldown, it really helps out with casters. With priests, make sure to pop your shadow ward right off. All priests that pvp are shadow, because thats the only way to pvp. The ward gets up to absorbing a large amount of shadow dmg in the long run. Mages and warlocks are always fun to watch. In this situation it really just comes down to the better pvp. Mage root doesnt really help, and polymorph can be cured with your felhound. It sorta just comes down to blasting each other until someone dies. In my pvp server, their is this one warlock that is ranked 3 in his standing for the whole server, he is badass. First is this warrior who is just a godlike dmg machine, and the second is this mage that I could swear never sleeps.
