RAW:
- HHH = obvious choice given history and the fact that he's got the credibility of being able to take the belt at any given time
- Angle = another solid main eventer who can outwrestle Cena.

- Jericho = believable, given his recent push. He's never really faced Cena, and maybe he can exploit a weakness. In any case, him beating Cena could be believable.
- HBK = solid main eventer, tho he doesn't need the belt. Same thing with Jericho applies to Michaels.

SmackDOWN:
- JBL has looked very strong lately (they should have done this last year) with good displays and such. He's not afraid of Batista, and he's been a long-reigning champ before, so he could beat Batista believably, especially if he cheats. Actually, he should win dirtily. It can't be clean or Batista's momentum is killed.
- Undertaker: see HHH. But Taker doesn't need it, nor would he be on TV enough to warrant a reign unless Vince lost his mind.
- Benoit: history seems to show that while hosses can overpower cruisers, the technical guys (or the well rounded guys) like Austin, Rock, Angle, and Benoit can beat anyone on any given day. So Benoit could beat Batista. They've battled before, but Chris didn't look horrible. Sure he got beat cleanly when Dave was getting pushed, but that could be dismissed as a fluke.

Booker and Orton could go against Dave, but they'd need serious pushing to make a win over Batista look believable. Same with Christian, unfortunately, because Batista has dominated him recently. Even a dirty win would look odd unless Dave was completely knocked out from like a sledgehammer.

I would say keep the belts on Cena and Batista till Summerslam at least, and possibly through Survivor Series.
