This happens every few months. He makes a bunch of stupid moves (going into the monster during an inning, not running out hits, fielding errors) and the media gets on him and he gets all defensive. Combine this with Millar not being happy and the media asking about his wife being pregnant.
He'll hit a few non-clutch home runs in the next week or two and all will be foregotten.
